Blessing of the New Chapel at the Catechetical Centre

The New Chapel dedicated to Infant Jesus at the Catechetical Centre, Bulupitiya was blessed by His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Harold Anthony Perera, the Bishop of Kurunegala on 20th December 2020. Special thanks to Rev. Fr. Basil Rohan Fernando, the National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies for the financial support extended towards this new chapel. Rev. Fr. Tharanga Dilekshika, the Diocesan Director for Catechetics, Bible and Education and his team organized this event.

A Day training program for New Catechists in the Diocese

A Day training program for New Catechists in the Diocese was held in Catechetical Centre, Bulupitiya on 03rd August 2020. This was organized and conducted by Rev. Fr. Tharanga Dilekshika, the Director of catechetics, Education and Bible Apostolate of the Diocese and the academic staff. Above 95 new catechists attended to this program and at the of it all received a certificate for the training received. Addressing the gathering His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Harold Anthony Perera gave a key note speech to the new catechists.

A Seminar Organized by the Catechetical Center of the Diocese of Kurunegala for the A/L Students

The catechetical center organized three-day seminar for the Advanced Level students who is going to sit for the examination this year. This seminar was conducted by the veteran educator Rev: Fr. Demian Perera, the Diocesan Catechetical Director of Anuradhapura Diocese.

Fifty-seven advanced level students participated in this seminar and some of them were from Dioceses of Chilaw and Trincomalee. Rev. Fr. Tharanga, Catechetical Director of the Diocese organized this event with the collaboration of his staff.
